Feed the Funnel Parties

Feed the Funnel Parties

What is a Feed the Funnel Party?

A feed the funnel party is a way to serve together with your best friend, grandma, younger siblings, school groups, coworkers and the list goes on!  Whether you are 3 years old or 90+ years old, there is something you can do.  You will stand shoulder to shoulder with your group and pour cups of rice, soy, vegetables, vitamins, and cheese into a bag and then weigh, seal, and box each bag as together we dream of each box going down the street to the local food pantry.  You may even be asked to show off your favorite dance move!  Each meal you package will help the 1 in 5 children that struggle with food insecurity.  Are you unsure of what being food insecure means?  Don’t worry we will have an educational time where you can learn about this and other facts about hunger and poverty!

Planning a Feed the Funnel Party

Feed the Funnel Parties can either happen at your location or at the Something to Eat Warehouse (1200 S. 5th St. Kansas City, KS 66105).  Before choosing your location, you will need to know the number of people you want to attend your party and the number of people your group would like to feed so that you can plan to bring  .25 cents per meal that your group packages.  That’s right, only .25 cents feeds one person a fully nutritious meal.  You will be packing 8 meals together in one bag so that’s $2.00/bag your group packages.  To give you some idea of how many people your group can feed and what your goal should be, one person will be able to package between 200 and 240 meals per hour.  If your group is 3rd grade or younger you will need to plan on each person packing at least 60 meals/30 minutes you would like your group to package.  That number jumps to 100-120 meals/30 minutes for those 4th grade-103 years old! Please fill out the host a party form and/or feel free to contact us with any questions to start planning your feed the funnel party.
